Our kids played a prank on us last night. First it was Annalise with me at 4 am. Then it was Matthew with Debbie at 8:30.
Their M.O. was identical!!
1. Grunt several times like you're powerlifting a '73 Ford Galaxy while eating.
2. Lull parent into complanceny, thereby fooling them into thinking said grunting is complete, by falling asleep during feeding.
3. Wait until the first diaper is off and the new one is under and then re-commence grunting.
4. Wait until 3rd diaper is only halfway on and then pee all over yourself.
5. Smile while dad/mom straps on diaper number 4.
Everyone seems to say after an episode like this: "Ahh, the joys of parenthood." That's like saying: "Ahh, the joys of home ownership," after a major appliance goes out unexpectadly. Excuse me...ain't much joy in 8 diapers in 4 hours, people.
But........the joy was in the photos I got of our worn out kids this morning. Take a peek below:

Just back from another spacewalk to the Doctor's office. These bear outfits are a little large, but they sleep so well in them!

The babies are beautiful!! I am so glad that we got in touch again!
Of course Annalise loves the sun. It's a herity thing. Her favorite Aunt Ann loves the sun- it is a cure-all for everything. Also, I understamd her great-great grandmother (I believe it's 2 greats)Karen Ellefsen also loved the sun - thought it healed sore fingers, feet, legs, etc. Anway, love seeing their pictures. Love Ann
I laughed so hard at that story!!! I only have the one kid, but sometimes it feels like I have many, and I have totally had that happen to me.
Beautiful babies by the way! We love and miss you guys! Addison is so excited to come and meet her cousins. All she wants to do is look at the pictures of Annalise and Matthew!
Yikes! Just wait till they do something like that in the middle of church. I started sweating bullets when Em was little and we were on diaper #3 before the second hour. We only had one left in the bag, but it worked out. Note to self - always keep an extra couple of diapers in the car just in case :)
I LOVE Anutie Ann's comment- made me laugh. I totally understand the diaper situation right now-- Nixon decided to take a shot at mom today. There really is no graceful way of cleaning yourself off after being peed on, mid-sentence, in front of your pediatrician. Love the pictures- they really are beautiful. Can't wait to get pics of ALL the "little mountain" cousins together.
